While working on ivly , I ended up with a Hugo theme on the side: Liftoff, made for product sites. Landing page, documentation, articles and ready-made page templates in a single theme.
Landing pages are assembled from shortcodes: hero, tab-based code blocks, feature cards, subscription plans and call to action. The documentation layout comes with an on-this-page table of contents and previous/next navigation. Callouts and code blocks are handled by Markdown render hooks, without a shortcode. Copyable page templates are included as blueprints.
Colours, spacing and type sizes are CSS custom properties, so the theme can be rebranded without forking it. Several colour presets drive the gradients in the headline, call to action and logo, each with a light mode that follows the system setting. i18n support. Icons come from Iconify, such as Simple Icons, Material Design, Heroicons or Tabler, and are inlined at build time.
Liftoff requires Hugo extended 0.146.0 or newer and can be added as a Hugo module or a Git submodule; the steps are in the README . The demo site runs on Liftoff itself and documents every shortcode.
The theme is MIT-licensed and hosted on Codeberg . Bug reports and patches are welcome there.
